Ashish Shakya is a member of AIB, India’s edgiest comedy collective. As part of AIB, he has been a part of the collective’s ambitious projects such as India’s first ever comedy roast, ‘AIB Knockout’, a full-day open-air comedy show, ‘AIB Diwas’ the satirical news show telecast on primetime television and Hotstar, ‘On Air with AIB’ and the Bollywood-themed ‘Royal Turds’.
As a stand-up comedian, he has performed hundreds of shows in Dubai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Goa, Indore and Chennai, and has written for brands that include the Filmfare Awards, ET Now, the Hero Group and the Aditya Birla Group.
He is a popular humour columnist, where his 4-year-old piece ‘The Blunder Years’ had a devoted following.
On the TV front, he’s worked with MTV, Channel V, Bindass and SAB TV, having written stand-up, sketches, magazine-style shows reality TV and has co-written the hit news comedy show ‘The Week That Wasn’t with Cyrus Broacha’ on CNN-IBN for about five years (250+ episodes).
