Q. How does OML choose which bands to manage?

There is no formula. But after all these years of working with artists, we can clearly say : -

1) We are completely biased towards bands who play original music.

2) We will never sign a band without seeing them perform live.

3) We have no restrictions of genre. Rock, Pop, Folk, Jazz, Electronica, Regional, Gospel, Devotional - everything goes as long as points (1) and (2) are taken care of.

Q. We already have a management company, how can we still work with OML?

Firstly, would we be interested in working with a band managed by another company ? The answer is YES. We’d like to do it the right way though and would prefer working through your management company and figure out possible collaborations and opportunities where OML bands could work with you.

While we manage few acts exculsively, we book over 100 artists and there’s a constant demand for bands. So we’d like to know more about you guys.

Q. OML only works with rock bands, no?

No. We started out with rock bands but now our roster is diverse and in fact, we are actively looking at new genres which will give us an opportunity to learn.

And even if you make music, which can’t be categorized and you are not sure how you can promote it, write to us. We will try figure that out together.

Q. We sent our demo to OML but never heard back. Now ?

We do get a large number of demos and while we try to respond to each one personally, sometimes it’s not possible.

The best way to send us a demo is emailing us at demos[at]oml.in, and we will do our best to write back to you with our honest feedback within a weeks time. Physical CD’s will often get lost in OML HQ, so we suggest you send us a short profile, mp3s or a link to a website where we can stream your songs, and live videos.

Q. Do we have to be signed on to OML to release on CCR ?

NO. OML and CCR function as independent entities, yet we are always in sync. We have released albums by acts who are not managed by OML, and there are acts managed by us who are not signed on to CCR.

When we look for a record deal for bands we manage, we look for the best possible deal, which may not necessarily be our own label.

Similarly, there might be artists we’d love to work with but we cant manage because of various reasons. Its your music that will help us make the decision, so dont hesitate sending us your demos.
