Rated as one of the best live acts in the country since their formation, Indian Ocean’s first live stint outside the country was in the year 2001 at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. After earning the long due appreciation of the international audience, Indian Ocean returned to play at the Fringe in the next two years as well.
Since their success at the Fringe, this spearhead of the Indian music scene have played in almost every continent and all major countries around the world. The New Zealand Arts Festival, the Smithsonian FolkLife Festival (Washington DC) and the Perth Arts Festival are just a few major ones.
Singing songs of liberation and redemption and fusing memorable melodies with rhythms that are compelling Indian Ocean appeals to an audience of all ages.
Having made their presence felt, the band is all set to go on a mammoth World Tour that will see them performing gigs in Russia, North America and Asia. With prestigious venues like Park Gorkogo in Moscow, the B.B.King Blues Club in New York and the father of it all the Globalquerque –World Music Festival in Albuquerque, New Mexico already on the cards Indian Ocean are all set to stamp their name once and for all in the World Music Scene.
