The Memory Project has been an initiative by HDFC Life to build a community where people can share their memories and cope during this difficult time. The Project aims to help people go beyond sorrow and cherish the lives of their loved ones lost. And through this year’s edition, they saw that in spades. With HDFC Life’s The Memory Project, OML told a story through the entire event’s show flow. We took the concept of losing a loved one and turned it into a sombre and memorable celebration, not just of the person who was lost, but what the loved ones who are left go through. The audience was taken through the 5 stages of grief with 5 actual stages – revealed one after the other, with one performance on each that perfectly represented the strong emotions that you go through when someone you love passes away. With layout, lighting, sound, installations and optimum usage of the space as well as the poignant performances, the audience was taken through a roller-coaster of emotions that perfectly captured HDFC Life’s original vision – to showcase the fragility of life and the struggle you go through when you lose somebody.
