Kolkata-born, Mumbai-based Anirban Dasgupta is a stand-up
comedian and writer with a penchant for storytelling. An engineer turned comedian Anirban made a career out of making hasty decisions (like getting married at the age of 24!). He was one of the founders of Comedified, one of the first legit comedy groups of Kolkata, and was instrumental in establishing a comedy scene in the sleepy city.
Since leaving behind his career as a corporate salesman, Anirban has headlined at major comedy clubs and festivals around India. With jokes, puns and sketches based on stories from his personal life, Anirban talks about his inter-community marriage, corporate life, politics (being Bengali), social media and various current affairs. In 2018 he released his first special “Take It Easy” on Amazon Prime Video which received a positive response overall. Following which he co-wrote and co-created Afsos, a first-of-it’s kind black comedy thriller series on Amazon Prime Video that released in 2020 to rave reviews.
