Brazil is considered the cultural hub of Latin America and is home to some of the best artists in the world. For Bombay Sapphire’s #StirCreativity campaign, we tapped into Sao Paulo’s vibrant art scene and featured 4 of the most groundbreaking contemporary artists across disciplines and captured their ideation proces and creative journey through the lens of our primary photographers.
Our #StirCreativity taps into the driving human value of self-expression – a cornerstone of independence, free choice and freedom. By featuring local artists who have stood out and sharing their art with the rest of us, we are pushing our core audience to embrace and express their suppressed creativity.
It's raining art, hallelujah!
by some of the most talented artists from São Paulo!
Got the Sao Paulo art community all stirred up!
Sao Paulo is Brazil’s art and culture epicentre and to build on Bombay Sapphire’s “Stir Creativity” campaign in Brazil, the Sao Paulo art scene was to be our ground zero. We partnered with 4 upcoming Brazilian artists from diverse art disciplines (urban arts, collage, urban sketching and kirie) to create 4 unique artworks inspired by Bombay Sapphire’s iconic blue bottle.
Joao Nove: João is an urban artist from Sao Paulo and he is best known for this vibrant abstract graffiti style, with his artwork often featuring elements of plants and nature. For his Bombay Sapphire artwork, he used his unique style blended with the elements and various botanicals of Bombay sapphire to create a beautiful canvas mural.
Marilia Navickaite : Marilia is a self taught urban-sketch artist and she is known for her immaculately detailed sketch of urban architecture and city skylines. For the campaign she took inspiration from the the urban landscape of Paulista Avenue, the central district of São Paulo and produced an incredible large format sketch that featured different Bombay Sapphire cocktails beautifully blended in with the city skyline, bringing a different look to the city.
Ari Adine: Ari is a Kirie artist, which is an ancient Japanese art of papercutting. Ari is best known for her delicately cut stencils often featuring women and flowers. For the Stir Creativity campaign, Ari used the geometric shapes of the Bombay Sapphire bottle and the various botanicals of the gin to create an intricate Kirie artwork.
Bruno : Bruno is a visual artist and makes collage artworks. His art often features colourful butterflies, flowers and various elements of nature. For his Bombay Sapphire artwork, Bruno created a beautiful collage with the Bombay Sapphire logo as the centrepiece of his art, surrounded by various botanicals and flowers.
The entire creation of the artworks, right from ideation, the process of making the art and the final art reveal were documented by 2 photographers and digital content creators – Danny Zappa and Paulo Del Valle. With a total of 14 posts on their Instagram profile and a combined reach of over 650K followers, the artists got a big digital platform to a to reach a wide demographic of audience that enjoys and appreciates art.
The campaign went through the line with Danny, Paulo along with the 4 artists participating in Art Rio 2019 and Bombay Sapphire’s Canvas 2019 in Sao Paulo where they unveiled their artwork to the fans and took workshops on their specific form of art for the attendees.
Creativity is in the DNA of Bombay Sapphire and we designed the Stir Creativity campaign keeping in mind the core values of inspiring creativity and encouraging creative self expression. The campaign gave a platform to some of the most talented upcoming artists to create and showcase their art and talent on a global scale.
