With a fierce passion for growing and supporting the local music talent, Bacardi had a slate of epic music experiences and collaborations to discover some of SA’s best homegrown artists. The friendship between South African DJ Speedsta and Yung Swiss is enviable in the world of SA Hip Hop. This duo had already created a chartbuster ‘Mayo’, a song that gained Speedsta public acclaim and fame.
The pair performed the third edition of Bacardi Live Sessions where they performed their new ‘Naughty’ collaboration as well as some songs off Yung Swiss’s Bottom Baby 2 project.
The duo definitely had a great time putting this set together. DJ Speedsta also announced their Bacardi House Party towards the end of their live set where their digital audiences got a chance to RSVP for the party before it was formally announced.
Hosted on the rooftop at 1 Eloff Street, the bright and modern styled party was packed with Hip Hop stars and fans who were out to enjoy the Summer heat as well as the Summer bangers on stage. David Genaro hitmaker Yung Swiss and DJ Speedsta, famously known for his hit song Mayo were the party’s headline acts along with Stilo Magolide, Uncle PartyTime and DJ Hudson as the supporting performances.
Keeping with Bacardi’s passion for supporting and growing local music, DJ Speedsta and Yung Swiss didn’t just host a party session, the pair recorded a new song and music video to celebrate the collaboration. They had the crowd moving to their latest hit single ‘Naughty’, which dropped a week before and the duo performed for the first time in public at the party.
Naughty is a feel-good, hip-hop track that released just in time for the festive season getting the fans all the more excited. The music video also set the tone for the holiday season every time you listen to it or watch the video.
The video showcases the musicians and their friends in swimwear, sipping on cocktails under bright-coloured umbrellas and gazebos.
Set by the sunny beaches the video epitomises what moves the two young super talents to contribute to the sounds of South Africa, showcasing what fun loving guys could get up to when they have the beach, girls, Bacardi and the Mother City of Cape Town as their playground.
The video also became a summer anthem music video for Bacardi as it mentioned the rum brand in the chorus from the song.
Speedsta did not wait for long to also release one of the slickest looking music video for ‘Combos Communicating’ with rapper Okmalumkoolkat. The music video was a fashion show in itself!
