Can’t Bear, a collaboration between UrboyTJ & Lazyloxy, became the biggest music video of the year – the music video raked in over 20 MILLION views in the first 30 days and is currently sitting snugly on the 100 MILLION+ views throne!
In 2018, Thailand witnessed the biggest comeback the Thai music industry has ever seen with the return of UrboyTJ. Fortunately for us, we were privileged to have been a part of that major comeback with Dewar’s. Can’t Bear, a collaboration with fellow rapper, Lazyloxy, became the biggest music video of the year – the music video raked in over 20 MILLION views in the first 30 days and is currently sitting snugly on the 100 MILLION views throne! Their collaboration on-screen helped bring alive the Dewar’s campaign of Double Is Better and was a stepping stone on what was to come in the future for Dewar’s.
UrboyTJ also started a UGC campaign on his Instagram channel – based on the ‘Double’ step that he did in the music video. The campaign garnered 1400+ entries from his fans with everyone trying to do the Double step while tagging Dewar’s in all their posts.
Doing this first track with UrboyTJ, and the resultant impact backed with our analytics and research on the countries, we were convinced that in order to truly impact Thailand and Vietnam’s popular culture, Hip hop was the best way forward to connect with Thai and Vietnamese millennials. This experience and research led to the creation of D15 Beats – Dewar’s first-ever digital property focused on music collaborations (between two artists) to help bring alive the messaging of Double Is Better.
In 2019, as part of D15 Beats platform in Thailand, we released our second music video with UrboyTJ and winner of The Rapper 2018, Maiyarap.
